What is “En Plein Air”? The literal translation of en plein air means “in the open air.” It is a French phrase that describes the process of painting landscapes while outside. It can also be used to describe the result of your work. For example, “Sunset en plein air.”
Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works.
Lastly, en plein air artists are nature lovers. Painting outdoors is a singular, connective experience; completely unique and different from any other.

You’re welcome to bring a sketchbook or special supplies if you have a preference.

Please arrive at 8:30am to give yourself enough time to park, orient yourself, walk to the barn and to meet Rebecca and your classmates.
The class will leave from the barn at 9:00am promptly for our nature walk.

Cancellations made within 2 weeks of the workshop are non-refundable for any reason, but are transferable for classes within the same calendar year. No refunds or class credits for no-shows.

Rebecca is a contemporary fine artist, author and educator based in Colorado. She creates from her home garden studio pieces inspired by nature and the patina of life. In addition to her art, Rebecca has authored a wide collection of decks and books combining mindfulness, nature and creativity to help people foster deeper connections with the world around us and experience the confidence that comes with attuned self-expression.
