This bowl comes from a beautiful and unusually large Pin Burl formation characteristic of Black Ash. Due to the bark inclusions inherent in this type of burl, the bowl is not ideal for salads or as a mixing bowl. It does, however, have an entierly food safe finish of pure Tung oil, so use as a bread, fruit, or other dry food bowl is entirely appropriate. The rim deatail is painted in natural Milk Paint applied before and sealed with the tung oil. This large bowl makes a dramatic visual imact at 13" in diameter and 6.5" high at the rim.
