Another wild plant we have in abundance at our Botanical Sanctuary is Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza lepidota) our native variety of licorice. The burrs themselves are tenacious and love to travel on people’s jeans, hair and of course, their favorite way of traveling is on the dogs.

In many Eastern cultures, licorice root has long been associated with healing and vitality. Its use in traditional medicine to soothe ailments and promote wellness has fostered a symbolic connection with restoration and rejuvenation.
