Herbal Medicine Making Workshop – Harvesting & Working with Fresh Plants

July 10 - 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

In the heat of the summer the plants are at their peak for harvesting.  This is the time to prepare your plant material for the coming year, using careful drying methods, infusing in oil, or tincturing.

In this workshop, participants will explore the farm’s Medicine Trail, and will have the opportunity to harvest fresh plants using mindful and respectful harvesting techniques.  Once back in the classroom, students will learn proper methods of drying and storing plants.  In addition, students will learn how to work with fresh plant material when making infused oils and tinctures.

All materials will be provided.  Students will have the opportunity to make a small jar of infused oil and a personalized tincture.

Although not required, it’s recommended that students have attended one or both of the earlier medicine making workshops, or have a general knowledge of making herbal medicines.

Class is held at Three Leaf Farm and led by Certified Herbalist Sara Stewart Martinelli.   Fee includes all supplies.

Class is limited to 8 people.
